My love affair with radio started when I was kid. I grew up listening to WLKW-FM, WPRO-AM, PRO-FM, WJIB-FM, and JB105. I listed to talk radio legends like Bruce Williams from Talk Net, Tom Snyder, WHJJ’s Sherm Strickhouser, Sally Jessy Raphael, WBZ’s David Brudnoy, and WRKO’s Jerry Williams. I also used to love listening to Music America on public station WGBH and sometimes jazz on Eric In The Evening and Blues After Hours with Mai Cramer. I also tried to catch Car Talk with the Magliozzi brothers as often as I could.

During summers while vacationing in southern RI, I was just barley able to pull in fantastic New York radio stations like WNBC-AM, WNEW-AM, and WINS 1010AM. WNBC introduced me to shock jocks Don Imus and Howard Stern.

After interning at legendary WBCN-FM in Boston, working at college station WERS-FM as a jazz host, and earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, I began my professional career in radio broadcasting. I had the honor of working at such stations as WBACH-FM (Maine), WPRO-AM (Providence, RI), WHDH-AM (Boston, MA), WLNH-FM & WBHG-FM (Gilford, NH), and the Talk America Radio Network (MA) which hosted journalist Jack Anderson and former California Governor Jerry Brown.

I eventually left radio behind and got into the consumer audio industry, working for Cambridge SoundWorks, B&W loudspeakers, Rotel, Tivoli Audio (15 years), and Como Audio (7+ years). In late 2021 I launched my own website, RecommendedStations.com, as a creative outlet to express my passion for radio, music, and audio equipment, with an occasional departure into my other passion…horror movies.

It’s just another station until it’s a Recommended Station.

During that same time I launched my Patreon campaign to recommend Internet radio stations on a monthly basis and unearth bizarre stations you never knew existed. With 100,000 free Internet stations from around the world, it was about time someone cut through the clutter and highlighted standout stations. For as little as $1 you can get my hand picked stations in your in box every month and help support my website and Internet radio stations in the process. If you’re a former Como Audio customer, join at the Elite level and I’ll also answer any of your Como-related tech questions (I wrote all of Como’s manuals, blog posts, did their how-to videos, and managed every model they made).

Kick off your shoes, get comfortable, and stay a while as you journey with me to fun and fascinating musical destinations. Strap yourself in.
